We have an exciting opening for an opportunity in our Production Department. Prima Cheese Ltd are looking for an additional Shift Supervisor who will support the Production Management team in the day to day running of the Production side of the company.

Reporting to the Production Manager, duties include but are not limited to:
**Firm Contribution**
- To make the fullest contribution to the Company at large.
- Always Lead by example when it comes down to the fundamentals of the production area (For example health & safety, hygiene, and housekeeping).
- The overall control and supervision of the production team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures relevant to the area of responsibility, when on site.
- Identify and resolve any issues in the Production area and escalate any issues as necessary to the Production Manager.
- A general positive can do attitude to all tasks.
- Must be flexible for working hours and to cover other Shift Supervisor’s holidays and sickness/absence and properly plan holiday allocation for the year.

**Role Specific**
- Must lead by example at all times.
- Maintain a high level of quality throughout the process keeping in line with all hygiene standards as well as meeting all HSE regulations.
- Sustaining all housekeeping and hygiene tasks as required as part of the role.
- Always utilising staffing available to get the best from any shift under their control.
- Supporting the Production management team in learning, coaching and guiding Line Technicians to move to the next level to Cover Shift Supervisors.
- Understanding the expected run rates, targets and all KPI's the Production Management team has set relating to performance.
- Work closely with the Line Technicians to ensure that each of them is clear with their plan for the shift, adherence to the production plan and action taken if time constraints on orders will not be met.
- Handover with incoming/outgoing Production Shift Supervisor, with all relevant information and results from the previous shift’s production, also highlighting any key issues which may hinder the current plan for orders.
- Assisting with training out and monitoring of new and current production processes and contributing to continuous improvement within the business.
- Supporting the Production Management team in keeping all training documents issued updated, as well as briefing out any relevant information provided by the Production Management team.
- Supervising the work of all of your team, highlighting those with strengths and directing those with areas to improve liaising with the Production Manager.
- Looking at how to reduce waste, offering suggestions on improvements to the wider operations management team.
- Working closely with the Engineering department to deal with any planned or unplanned tasks required, minimising production downtime.
- Be part of a production process delivering Quality, Consistency and Service to our customers.
- Ensure the scrape down and clean down processes are managed efficiently by supporting the Hygiene Coordinator and wider Hygiene team.
- Ensure RTW interviews are conducted with team members who have been absent from work and recording on People HR.
- Any other duties as requested by the Production Management team.
- Strong ability to engage, motivate and lead at all times, with the ability to provide conflict resolution and de-escalation of difficult situations.
- Experience in leading a diverse and dynamic team, supporting the Production Management team.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of good hygiene practices.
- To have a general understanding of both the individual departments and overall Company objectives and provide support to the senior management in achieving those objectives.

*There will be an 8% shift allowance added to salary for all night shift hours worked
