We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Housekeeper to join our team. The expectation of this role is that you will assist the Executive and Deputy Executive Housekeepers in running the housekeeping and laundry operation, where necessary deputizing in their absence. You will also ensure that product quality standards are met, and optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel or company business objectives. This is a physical job as well as being partially desk based and requires stamina and strength. This role will include a combination of early and late shifts and weekend cover.
**As Assistant Housekeeper, you will**:
- Ensure the Housekeeping Department is opened as needed and the preparation of room listings and designate Room Attendant’s, Public Area Cleaners and Porters daily assignments.
- Coordinate the servicing of Airline Crew rooms ensuring that incoming crew wait time is minimised. To also make sure that late check-out rooms, as well as DND room assignments are correct and are completed to departmental operating standards.
- Spot check bedroom and public area cleanliness, working with Floor Housekeepers to rectify any discrepancy or variance of standards.
- Coordinating the back of house duties for the housekeeping department including rota’s, product orders and maintaining inventory.
- To take phone calls from guests, Front Office and Concierge and direct Room Attendants and Porters to complete the required tasks.
- Where required liaise with and manage the work of external cleaning contractors.
- Ensure that all training is being carried out to the Holiday Inn and departmental operating standards.
- Be comfortable with leading, multi-tasking and making quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate IT skills such as using Opera, Outlook, office system and touchscreen devices.
- Be exceptional with your attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

**Key Requirements**:
You will be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful individual with excellent English verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to plan, prioritise, multi task and self manage, without constant supervision. Flexibility, adaptability to varied working hours and an immaculate appearance are also vital to this role, as is attention to detail and a positive can do attitude.
Previous Housekeeping supervisory experience is essential.
