An exciting opportunity for an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a leading manufacturing client based in the NG15 area on a Permanent basis.
Due to growth within the business an APQP Engineer is required to join an established business to assist and support the Engineering and NPI lead.
Duties -- Responsible for implementation of lean methodology across a leading Tier 1 manufacturing facility.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal and cost reduction.
- Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor by collaboration with multiple functions such as planning, operations, engineering and quality.
- Single point of contact for APQP activities on specific NPI/Transfer of Work Activities
- Identify and communicate specific requirements to Project/Engineering Teams
- Production of formal reports as required.
Qualifications/Skills-- Degree level or equivalent Minimum HND qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
- Process mapping and identifying areas for improvement
- Planning and facilitating workshops, improving business process and building team members capability
- Practical experience of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Practical experience in use of problem-solving tools such as 8D reporting, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodology.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- Kaizen methodology, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt would be advantageous
- Change Management/Lean Manufacturing
Salary up to £45,000 dependent upon experience
25 days holiday (including bank holidays)
Hours: 7am - 4am: (Monday - Thursday) 7am - 12am: (Friday)
