**Location**: Thirsk, United Kingdom

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To liase with the technical administrator to collect a formula (recipe) required to prepare a specified quantity of a special powder mix called an SPM which has been previously developed by a technologist
- To study the formula and bring together all the necessary ingredients from the appropriate store room to prepare the required quantity of the sample
- To weigh out individual ingredients to weights specified in the formula
- To mix the ingredients to specified methods.
- To pack off and label the samples ready for dispatch to the customer.
- After completing a mix to return ingredients to the appropriate storeroom in its correct position.

To maintain appropriate stocks of sample containers, dispatch boxes, foil pouches, spoons and other sundries necessary for the dispatch of samples.
- To generate the correct labels for each sample/customer
- To ensure that the appropriate paperwork (e.g. specification/health and safety data) is included with the sample.
- To maintain the samples preparation area in a clean condition during working hours.
- To clean the work area and all utensils at the end of the working day.
- To maintain their office workstation and filing system in a tidy orderly manner at all times.
- Any other duties deemed relevant by the Samples Team Leader or over management within the scope of the role.

**Occasional Duties**:

- Weighing: (Dry Powders) Batching up powders for mixes using Pick Sheets which give clear defined locations and quantities of raw materials to be weighed
- Weighing : (Oils) Batching up liquids for mixes using Pick Sheets which give locations and quantities.
- Mixing: Blending the weighed materials using manufacturing instructions
- Packing: Packing off completed mixes in various packages
- Goods in: Taking deliveries of all raw materials and packaging, locating position within warehouse and putting away.
- Dispatch: Ensuring shipments of finished products leave the premises on the correct transport with the correct documentation.
- Finding and allocating rack spaces for completed orders. Achieve KPI’s and personal competencies. Achieve production deadlines

- Detail orientated and ability to work with a sense of urgency. Handle multiple projects in an organised methodical manner
- To follow proper lab procedures and safety policies. Ability to carryout repetitive procedures
- Good communication skills. Computer literate. Work effectively as a team member. Ability to show initiative/pro-activity
- Minimum Level qualifications - good GCSE or A Level. Experience of working in a laboratory would be beneficial, but not essential
