**Reporting to**: Client Care Development Manager
**Responsible for**: Day-to-day management of safe, effective, and responsive services provided by the Myriad Centre
**Purpose of the role**
- To ensure that the transport service at Myriad runs smoothly and efficiently with well planned routes collections and drop offs. To also ensure that the vehicles are maintained in a safe, secure and legal state.
- To provide line management support and supervision to minibus Drivers and Passenger Assistants.
- To work in a cohesive and collaborative partnership with the Client Care Co-Ordinator to ensure that transport is readily available for clients to travel to and from the Myriad Centre each day and will, on a regular basis, include external activities, while delivering high quality and person-centred support and services for our clients.
- To uphold the culture and values of Myriad Centre at all times.
**Key Responsibilities**
- To work collaboratively with the Client Care Development Manager to ensure that Transport services are delivered within budget.
- To support the development and review of transport policies and processes, ensuring that they are robustly implemented.
- To develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, parents/carers and others involved in the support of Myriad Centre clients, whilst maintaining the confidentiality required at all times as defined in General Data Protection Act and Legislation
- To ensure that clients’ individual transport needs are met, safely and with dignity.
- To take responsibility for ensuring the general supervision of clients who may need constant supervision or who should not be left alone.
- To ensure that all transport team members engage with and are up to date with, their required training and development programme, including (but not exclusively) moving and handling, wheelchair clamping and the individual requirements for rescue Midazolam where clients have seizures. Training will be provided by Myriad Centre.
- To ensure that vehicles are checked daily and are safe and secure at all times.
- To ensure that the vehicles are maintained and serviced on time or as the need arises.
- To identify the most efficient routes for the drivers and escorts and to contact relevant parties, to include parents/carers, should there be any changes/delays.
- To report and record significant issues, incidents and accidents as they arise in accordance with Myriad policy and procedure.
- To ensure required paperwork (for example, bus checklist, etc.) is completed in a timely way in accordance with Myriad policy and procedure.
- To work closely with the Client Care Co-Ordinator to plan and support external outings and events.
- To attend and participate in staff meetings and, in accordance with Myriad staff development policy, attend relevant training courses as they are required/made available.
- To contribute to annual review meetings for clients with parents/carers when required.
- To ensure that the environment at Myriad Centre is safe, happy and discrimination free at all times.
- To monitor and evaluate the environment for risks and hazards and action accordingly.
- To sign off transport team members’ timesheets and short-notice annual leave, ensuring that alternative cover within the transport team is arranged if required..
**Other duties**:
- To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role; encourage and support colleagues in their development and training.
- To undertake the duties and responsibilities associated with the post and in accordance with Myriad policy.
- To behave in a professional manner at all times and to maintain a positive image of the Centre.
