We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as our Support Worker. We support our brilliant customers who are single and or homeless from the ages of 16 to 25. We help them to move onto independent living within the local community.

Our customers live in Derwentside Accommodation Service, based in Consett Town Centre where we offer housing and tenancy related support to 13 young people. We have 12 self-contained, fully furnished flats and 1 assessment bed.

We help our customers to take control of their own lives offering support with tenancy related issues and access to training and education. We work in partnership with various different agencies to support them to achieve their goals.

As our Level 2 Support Worker, you’ll have a small caseload of customers who you’ll support and help enable them to budget their money, pay rent and develop skills to manage a tenancy.

You’ll be responsible for the health, safety and security of the building and monitoring the CCTV. You’ll also be responsible for safeguarding our customers, the collection of rents and void turnaround, including cleaning empty flats and basic DIY.

**About you**

As our Support Worker, you’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.

You’ll have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans and working collaboratively.

We help change our customer’s lives for the better. As a Support Worker, you’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers.

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe)

As this is a community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use
- When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one._

**Working hours**

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each and every day. We operate a 4-week rolling rota between the hours of 7.30am and 10.00pm. We take our turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you
