Band 3 - Speech and Language Therapy Admin Supervisor

We are looking for a confident and efficient person with leadership skills to join our busy Speech and Language Therapy administration team based in Wrexham Child Health Centre. You will be working alongside another band 3 supervisor to support the friendly team. This is a part time post, 22.5 hours per week, to be worked over 3-4 days.

You will have supervisory responsibility for the SLT administration team which will include conducting PADRs, informal attendance and performance issues, working with an identified clinical team lead to escalate any formal staff issues.

The role includes coordinating Speech and Language Therapy appointments and alterations to clinics. You will be responsible for setting up the clinic slots working closely with service managers on time slots and clinic patterns, ensuring that patients are booked in line with local and national targets, and co-ordinating the utilisation of clinic slots. The role also includes inputting patient referrals on to the patient administration system, distribution of reports and scanning.

Excellent IT skills, ideally in using a hospital administration system (or similar) are essential and you’ll need to be an excellent, tactful communicator, who demonstrates a helpful and professional manner at all times, and in particular be sensitive to the needs of those with speech and language difficulties.

By the nature of the duties, the post-holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, parents, carers, relatives, medical staff and other services, using the telephone and in writing, with courtesy and discretion at all times.
