**THE ROLE**

The Pupil Supervisor role is diverse and rewarding, working with Senior School pupils. The Pupil Supervisor will be supporting the wellbeing and safety of pupils from Years 7 to 11 particularly outside the classroom, including trips, as well as working closely with the School Office team on covering at times the Reception desk.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Undertaking effective, constructive and positive pupil supervision in and around the Senior School site, including recreational areas on the Bishopswood Road site, during break periods, lesson changeover times and occasionally in classrooms
- Assisting with actively maintaining the safety and good order of pupils during lesson transitions between sites including on private or public footpaths
- Undertaking locker room and form room supervision for Lower School
- Escorting pupils across the School site including those with sustained injuries
- Assisting the Welfare staff including the Nurses with the escorting of pupils
- Assisting with maintaining a safe environment including the managing of school bags in corridors and doorways
- Maintaining safe and tidy designated recreational areas and reporting matters of concern to relevant staff
- Taking shared responsibility for health and safety and cleanliness and tidiness of communal areas
- Administering first aid when required on completion of a First Aid at Work course
- Assisting the School with the sorting and processing of lost property, ensuring that belongings are returned to their owners in an efficient and timely manner
- Undertaking the removal of spent displays from around the Senior School as instructed
- Accompanying pupils on authorised off-site trips in line with School needs
- Undertaking tuck shop duties including stock control and effective handling of money
- Assisting with reporting on attendance and registers when necessary
- Maintaining and updating database of pupil locker allocation
- Raising with the Heads of Year any pastoral, behavioural or procedural difficulties
- Developing appropriate relationships with pupils including learning their names and being able to recognise and report concerning behaviours
- Reinforcing the values, expectations and behaviours required by the School
- Being a positive and enthusiastic role model to the pupils

**Reception at the Entrance Lodge**

On occasion this role will involve covering the the Receptionist at the Entrance Lodge. During this time duties will involve:

- Being the first point of contact at Senior School for deliveries - sign for receipt and arrange distribution or collection
- Be the first point of contact at Senior School for staff and contractors using the Entrance Lodge entrance, and for visitors and pupils in the event of the Charter Entrance being closed or unavailable
- Ensure that visitors sign in at Reception and are issued with a security pass, contacting the relevant member of staff, and ensuring that they are met and chaperoned by a member of staff and that they sign out when leaving the building
