Description
The Juice Academy are hiring on behalf of Manchester Youth Zone for a Content Creator Apprentice. The Manchester Youth Zone first opened to young people in 2012 as an independent charity. Located in Harpurhey enables the Manchester Youth Zone to reach those young people who need “somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to”.
We work with young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs offering provision during the day (including weekends) for targeted young people, each evening for universal provision and residential provision as part of specific programmes. The Manchester Youth Zone has an excellent reputation in a number of areas including safeguarding, working with young people who are “at risk” of criminal exploitation, mentoring and employment skills. We have invested strongly in partnership working, becoming a community asset responding to the needs of young people and the local community of North Manchester.
**Job Description**:
Key Duties (day to day)
- Capture and create high quality content for external communications that includes social media, website, press releases, donor newsletters, marketing campaigns and more
- Learn the audiences for each channel and adapt your communication and marketing style to meet the needs of these different audiences
- Regularly analyse the engagement of social media posts
- Capture and create high quality content for internal communications that ensures our staff team are engaged in the work being delivered across the whole organisation
- To work effectively with the Communications & Events Manager to deliver on the communications strategy action plan
- To work effectively with the Fundraising Manager to support with donor communications, impact reports and to capture content during corporate volunteering days etc
- To work effectively with the whole youth work team to understand where impactful content can be captured, ensuring that over a week you attend a variety of youth work sessions
- Ensure that the content captured is representative of our young people and the local community
- To work effectively with the people team to create media campaigns for vacancies - ensuring the roles are shared in ways which increase equity, diversity and inclusion in our organisation
- To build strong relationships with young people on session in order for impactful content to be captured and share your knowledge and experience with them
- Ensure that all content created is in line with the organisation’s communications strategy, and all safeguarding measures have been taken when including young people (checking photo consent etc)
- Be fully committed to the apprenticeship programme, attending and engaging in each session and off the job learning activities

Project based
- Work alongside Fundraising team and Communications trustee to update website
- Work alongside people team to create internal communications strategy which engages all staff and volunteers
- Work alongside business operations team to create marketing packages for room hire and similar income streams
- Increase engagement from MYZ leadership team and trustees on social media channels
- Actively address any bullying, harassment, or discrimination, promoting cohesion, inclusion, and positive relationships.
- To understand and adhere to MYZ policies and procedures at all times with particular emphasis on equal opportunities, positive behaviour management, health and safety and safeguarding.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times, managing any safeguarding issues should they arise (training provided).
- To be an active member of the team and operate in line with the Charity’s expectations, values and principles. Work a flexible pattern including evenings and weekends in line with the role/team requirements.
- Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably determined by your line manager and be flexible to attend residential trips.
- Promote a positive image of MYZ through professionalism and good conduct with all our stakeholders and the public

Entry requirements
- Level 4/grade C in English and Maths GCSEs for apprenticeship eligbility
- Social media savvy and enjoys creating content across different platforms
- Skills with photography and video
- Desirable but not compulsory: experience with WordPress, or other website software

Training to be provided
The Juice Academy is a digital marketing Academy based in Castlefield, Manchester. They train up to 80 apprentices a year, whilst the apprentices work with businesses around the North West (and sometimes further afield). The training is delivered by industry professionals from their sister company, Tangerine Communications. The Juice Academy training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning within the academy in Castlefield, and online delivery via Zoom. Apprentices
