We are looking to appoint individuals to support the pharmacy team to dilute, prepare and supply vaccines for immunisation within the Mass Vaccination Centres.

Working in the mass vaccination centres with a broad range of clinical and clerical staff in a true whole team environment with the aim to provide timely vaccinations to patients in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Staff are approachable and friendly where everyone is welcomed with a smile.

Working alongside our pharmacy colleagues you will support all aspects of vaccine preparation and distribution as well as some clerical support. The post holder/s will contribute to the maintenance of vaccine, medical and surgical stock levels. The post holder/s will also support with cold chain monitoring.

The post holder/s will be supervised by a clinically competent registrant to dilute and accurately measure the correct dose of the concentrated vaccine ready for administration. Full training and competency assessment will be provided.

Day to day the post holder will report to the onsite senior assistant technical officer within the pharmacy department of the vaccination centres.

Although the post does not entail direct patient contact, post holders may be asked questions by patients and should direct all queries to the Clinic Controller.

All post holder/s must abide by Data Protection, Dignity and Patient Confidentiality rules at all times.

Post holder/s will be based within our Mass Vaccination Centres.

The post holder/s will handle and prepare vaccines.

The post holder/s will be required to undertake a range of clinical and clerical activities as delegated by the pharmacy onsite lead.

The post holder/s will also contribute to the maintenance of medical and surgical stock levels.

The post holder/s will be responsible for cold chain storage of vaccines.

The post holder will participate in health education and promotion of immunisation and vaccination, to improve uptake and assist in achieving national targets.
