We currently have a Residential Childcare Worker post within our Short Breaks service for Disabled children in Lawrence Weston.
The role of the Residential Childcare Worker is to work alongside the Registered Manager, Deputy Managers (registered nurses) and other RCCW's to provide a fun time for children with learning difficulties away from their families, having new experiences, learning independent living skills and building friendship groups.
The service is offered to children between the ages of 5 and 18 with severe learning disabilities and/or complex physical health needs. The home is fully equipped to offer a variety of activities for the children to choose, including sensory play, in and outdoor activities, cooking and water play.
It also offers families the opportunity to have a break from their caring duties, to spend time with their other children and recharge their batteries.
The posts require an enthusiastic, motivated, and creative person who wishes to support the development and care of Children with learning difficulties and complex health care needs in a safe and fun environment.
We have a stable staff team who have worked in the home for many years and so able to offer a supportive environment to new staff members. In addition, a specialised training package and a 14% shift allowance alongside your competitive salary.
We work a 24 hour shift pattern with rotas available 8 weeks in advance. You will be expected to work a range of days to include weekends, evenings and waking nights. We are closed on Bank holidays.
