**The role**:
**Senior Bookkeeper - Part Time**
- Surrey based (remote)
- Rate - £16 - £19 per hour
- Hours - approx. 50 hours over the month
- Job Type: Part-time
- Qualified by Experience, Part Qualified AAT, IAB or similar

We are looking for a motivated part time Senior bookkeeper to support our Finance Manager in our growing business, so that the Finance Manager can focus more on the reporting and business intelligence and operational support to the Directors.

We need support for 3 full days (approx. 20 hours) in the first week of every month, which is our busiest time, then 10 hours a week for the other weeks of the month, with some flexibility as the business requires.

This role has the potential to develop, in both time required and in the scope of responsibilities, so we’re looking for someone who sees this as a long term role and who wants to continue to develop their skills.

The role is home based so you can enjoy some flexibility to work around family or other commitments. You will be required to work with the Finance Manager and/or Directors from an office on occasion and attend team meetings in Surrey as required.

**_Previous experience within a finance function is a must, as is extensive experience using Xero._**

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Enter a large volume of Sales and Purchase Invoices with a high degree of accuracy at the beginning of every month.
- To carry out reconciliations to ensure that all invoices are coded to the correct project and region.
- To chase any missing invoices, and send corrections to those that are wrong.
- To ensure that all of the direct debits are taken on time every month.
- To accelerate the cash in the business through focussed credit control activities.
- Sending customer statements and posting and matching customer receipts
- Setting up and maintaining master records and repeating invoices in Xero
- To support the Finance Manager and Directors by delivering on task deadlines without being chased and being flexible.
- Setting up new clients in Xero

**Future responsibilities (after around 6 months)**:
There is the opportunity to take on additional bookkeeping responsibilities including posting and reconciling bank transactions, preparing supplier payment runs every 2 weeks, Vat returns, payroll, posting monthly journals, reporting KPI’s and excel reconciliations.

**Experience required**:

- It is essential that you have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to find errors.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Comprehensive experience of purchase and sales ledger activities
- Proficient in Xero
- Competent in Excel (exporting and manipulating data, VLOOKUP)
- Ability to manage your own time, prioritise and be accountable for your responsibilities.
- Be enthusiastic, self motivated and able to work to meet deadlines.
