We’ve always been at the forefront of reducing environmental impact, whether that is using bumblebees for production or taking care of every drop of water we use. At our nurseries in Norwich and Ely, we’ve become one of the first growers to use waste heat from water treatment plants and reservoirs, reducing carbon footprint by up to 60%. We now account for nearly 20% of tomatoes and 25% of cucumbers grown in the UK

We have an exciting opportunity available to join our team as a Finance Assistant. This is a central role supporting both Norwich and Ely functions but based predominantly at our Norwich site.

Reporting to our Accountant, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for the daily purchase ledger, the sales ledger and cash tasks for The Green House Norwich and The Green House Ely. When needed, they will support with the preparation of management accounts, payroll, ad hoc analysis and some general office duties for The Green House Norwich and The Green House Ely.

Main duties include:

- Responsibility for all aspects of the purchase ledger, setting up new suppliers, due diligence checks, processing purchase invoices and preparing payments.
- Completing supplier statement reconciliations and timely resolution of any queries.
- Responsibility for all aspects of the sales ledger, from setting up new customers, due diligence checks, raising sales invoices and allocating customer receipts.
- Ensuring accurate and timely postings for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation for standard procedures and processes.
- Sense checking and validating any information prepared to ensure correct and accurate.
- Engaging with the operational teams and providing support to aid business decisions.
- Assisting with monthly management accounts for The Green House Norwich and The Green House Ely, which includes (not limited to) posting journals, preparing reports and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- To support accountant with bi-weekly/monthly payroll, covering payroll when required independently.
- Seeking process efficiencies and opportunities to maximise profitability and cash.
