**Transport Supervisor - Night Shift (Birmingham based)**

**The Role**

Our Night Transport Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Simply Lunch works towards its vision of becoming a leading Food to Go supplier in the U.K. We must ensure that as a business our Customer Service is notably better than any of our competition and the timely and quality delivery of our goods is instrumental in our overall service to our customers.

Your overall responsibility is to ensure our orders are delivered at the correct time and at the correct quality. You also have a range of other responsibilities, listed below (this list is not exhaustive), which ensures the successful running of our Transport department. As a food business, the cleanliness and presentation of our vehicles and staff must be impeccable and it will be your responsibility to ensure this happens.

As the Night Transport Supervisor, you act as a role model to all our staff therefore it is imperative that your conduct and attitude around the business is first class.

**Main responsibilities**
- Ensure that vehicles are loaded correctly to the company standard and despatched on time.
- Orders are delivered on time and at the required quality.
- Planned routes are checked and any necessary changes are made and clearly communicated to delivery drivers.
- All vehicles (inside & out) are kept clean and tidy.
- All Road Traffic Accidents are recorded and relevant paperwork completed.
- Act as a direct contact for all delivery drivers and designate a deputy for holiday periods and calls through the night.
- Ensure that the fuel card receipts are collected and filed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all vehicles are road worthy and report any vehicle that requires VOR to the fleet supervisor.
- Ensure our delivery sheets are updated with correct delivery information and driver reports are as accurate as possible.
- Ensure all Technical paperwork is filled out and stored correctly.
- Organise couriers and collections when necessary.
- Be proactive in ways of reducing costs and improving our delivery systems.
- Ensure that drivers carry out both start of day and end of day checklist for the fleet of vehicles.
- Ensure an end of shift report is sent on a daily basis.
- Work closely with Senior management and Directors to achieve company policies and goals.
- Maintain a well organised and efficient Transport operation throughout the business.
- Carry out necessary training as pre company requirements.
- Ensure that drivers comply to EU Regulations and Working Time Directive

- Excellent Communicator and supervisor of staff
- Excellent decision making skills

- Computer skills
- Forklift licence
- Good understanding of Food Hygiene
- Good motivator of a team
- Good delegator

**Hours of work**

Sunday -Thursday nights - Extra shifts available

1am - 10am
