**Job Purpose**

As a Warehouse Operative, you are an integral part of our team, responsible for stock replenishment and order picking for delivery to our customers. You will also book stock in/out via our computerised system and support the branch as necessary through occasional delivery of stock for our customers and serving on the trade counter.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Responsible for receiving, unloading and checking all deliveries
- Checking off received goods against supplier delivery notes
- Picking/packing orders ready for despatch
- Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner
- Ensure stock is ordered and replenished in timely manner to prevent customer delay
- Liaise with suppliers and handle queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies
- Keep inventory management systems up to date
- Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or using heavy lifting equipment
- Support with the implementation of a stock and inventory control management system
- Conduct regular stock takes
- Provide Support in Trade Store during busy periods
- Make recommendations for improvements within the warehouse on an ongoing basis
- Booking stock onto computer system and putting away
- Delivery driving

**Key Skills and Behaviours**
- Store experience highly advantageous
- Good understanding of Cutting Tools, Abrasives and PPE Products
- Confident IT Skills - computerised stock management system
- Recognition of Health and Safety protocols
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Initiative-taking with a dedicated approach
- Good local geographical knowledge
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Resourceful, self-driven and motivated
- An ability to work independently and as a team
- A flexible and can-do attitude

**Professional Qualifications**
- Full Clean Driving Licence
- Forklift driving licence advantageous
