Tower Hamlets CAMHS in partnership with London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) are looking to recruit a 12 month fixed term band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join the Edge of Care Service (EoC). The role is part time (0.5 WTE).
The EoC Service is based within Children’s Social Care and works with children aged between 11- 17 who are deemed to be on the ‘edge of care’. The EoC service consists of two team managers, three social workers, four support workers, a Family Therapist and a Clinical Psychologist. The service utilises a number of approaches to keep children within their families and return children home from care. It is a vibrant team which adopts a systemic culture and there is always room for creativity and innovation
The post holder will have experience of working within CAMHS and ideally have experience of multi agency working (preferably within social care). The role of the post holder will be to provide evidence based interventions for children with mental health or emotional well-being difficulties that might be impacting on family life. The post holder will also help to develop the psychological understanding of why children might at risk of being removed from their family, and what can help families to stay together through the process of joint work with colleagues and consultation
As the EoC service is evolving there is the exciting opportunity to help shape the service offer by contributing to regular reports and audit to understand how the service is being used. There is also the opportunity to provide teaching/training to the team around psychological approaches as well as helping to embed practice using the newly introduced models to the team (Tree of Life and NSPCC Reunification Framework).
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic service encompassing a wide variety of activities as a clinical psychologist.
Please refer to the PS&JD for more information.
