**Senior Payroll Administrator**

Modis are currently working in partnership with a market leading enterprise business to recruit an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator with experience of managing payroll operations and leading payroll teams.

**The Role**

As a Senior Payroll Administrator you will lead and co-ordinate the delivery of an efficient and effective payroll and pension service that is customer focussed and provides value for money. Work closely with and support stakeholders to understand all businessrequirements in order to advise and support service delivery across the wider team.

**The Responsibilities**
- Be the lead Payroll and Pension administration specialist on all matters
- Be responsible for compliance with all internal and external control frameworks and audit
- Be responsible for the interpretation and implementation of statutory legislative requirements, all reconciliations and Payroll and Pensions statutory returns to HMRC and other Government departments
- Be responsible for reviewing cases of non-compliance with Payroll and Pensions regulations or service delivery failure, making recommendations for process and administrative changes as required
- Responsible for ensuring that retention of payroll records is in accordance with statutory requirements
- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of payroll and pensions output in accordance with statutory requirements and service level agreements with internal and external customers using appropriate performance measures and resolving discrepancies in conjunctionwith the other internal stakeholders
- Manage the third party pay overs, financial reconciliations, invoicing where required
- Sign off monthly and weekly payrolls and BACs
- Lead and oversee the running of the monthly, weekly and year end processes and returns for payroll and pensions, including HMRC returns, Pension returns, meeting the required timescales and deadlines
- Ensure reconciliation of all records are in line with regulatory and legislative requirements
- Ensure GDPR is applied to all employee records and exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters and ensure that any specified procedures for ensuring the security and confidentiality of information is always maintained
- Ensure the delivery of a great service in line with contractual commitments and build long lasting customer relationships
- Provide appropriate support and work closely with the team to assist in delivery of service and team outcomes, ensuring there is always a joined-up approach. Attend and take part in management meetings, contributing new ideas and resolving potential issuesas they arise
- Be responsible for the development and performance of the payroll team. Develop skills and knowledge, implement and regularly review comprehensive and stretching performance targets at a team and individual level, ensuring processes are in place to monitorperformance against these targets
- Provide leadership and day to day management of the payroll team and support the delivery of the service across the wider team

**The Requirements**
- Ideally will hold CIPP qualification or possess some formal payroll qualification
- Understanding and working knowledge of payroll management
- Detailed understanding of payroll and pension processes within a HR shared service centre environment
- Sound understanding of all legal and statutory regulations of a payroll function, including PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, student loans, DEA's, court orders etc
