**The Role**:
SCIP is a community service that provides support at home, in school and in the local community for children with additional needs. SCIP Workers work directly with disabled children and their families to identify and work towards the things that are important to them and support them to achieve their goals. They are advocates for the children they work with and work alongside other professionals from education, health, social care and the voluntary sector. The work focuses on prevention, early intervention and coordination through the Early Support Team Around the Child (TAC) plan. SCIP works with the whole family to co-design a tailored approach to the needs of the child/young person so that things improve for them. This can negate the need to escalate some children/young people to statutory social work intervention.

SCIP Workers are passionate and committed to working with disabled children and young people aged 0 to 18 years and their parents/carers.

SCIP Workers are supported to attend specific training so that they can use a range of evidence-based approaches and intervention skills such as, Positive behaviour Support, Signs of Safety and Motivational Interviewing. They use a solution focused approach to their work.
