Qc Assistant

**Fresh Service** LTD specializes in the cold storage and distribution of high value fresh produce throughout the UK. We have an opportunity for a QC to join our busy team, working at both, our **Paddock Wood** **and** **Darenth depots,** 4-5 days a week ( to be agreed), on a Rota basis including Sundays and Bank Holidays.

**The role**:
You will be required to carry out quality assessments on a range of fresh produce through various methods and procedures as would be standard for the industry. You will be communicating both, internally and externally with customers, associates and colleagues, while responding to queries, sending reports and sharing your findings, both in written form and verbally.

You will also be involved in the maintenance and calibration of equipment, checking temperatures and keeping accurate record of relating activities.

This position would suit someone with experience in the industry looking for a change or possibly someone looking to develop a career in the fresh produce industry.

**Responsibilities**:
While reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be working in a fast paced, cold-storage and warehouse environment where you will be involved with:

- The assessment of fresh produce at various stages in the distribution chain, including on arrival, during storage and prior to out-loading.
- Ensuring where appropriate that company procedures are followed by staff and visitors to our sites, that policies are adhered to and to assist with internal auditing
- Ensuring that equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and operational
- To promote harmonious and effective working relationships both internally and externally, and ensuring excellent customer service through a combination of good communication and team work.
- **Must be able to work at both, Paddock Wood and Dartford Depots so own transport or the ability to commute is essential.**
- Customer focused with excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to multi task & prioritise
- Technically capable with a methodical approach
- Experience of the fresh produce industry (Packing /Warehouse) and/or knowledge of Quality Control will be beneficial
- Must be confident in working safely in a busy warehouse and temperature controlled environment.
- React positively and flexibly to the changing needs in the general working environment as well as within the individual role
- Flexible approach to duties and hours of work to meet the needs of the business on a day by day basis
- Able to work both, independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work, but more importantly prioritise and make decisions under pressure
- Education to a minimum GCSE (C+ grade) in both English and Maths

**Working hours and Salary**:

- Contract type: Permanent
- Days of work: 4-5 days a week, to be agreed, including Sundays and Bank Holidays where required.
- Hours of work 07h00-16h00 or 08h00-17h00
- Salary: : £12.89 p/h
