**Overview**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pension Administration Team for a **Pensions Payroll Officer** to successfully contribute to the running of our 25,300 pensioner payroll. This is an opportunity to extend your pension/payroll knowledge and work as part of a close team.

We are a small and friendly payroll team who are part of the wider Pension and Investment Team within Buckinghamshire Council’s finance area. We aim to achieve high satisfaction for our members and bring a level of customer focus in line with the wider Council's policy.

**Key Accountabilities**
- To run the monthly payroll in a timely manner in accordance with the payroll timetable.
- Performing end of the month processes and year end processes in order that the payroll process runs smoothly and within legislation requirements.
- Regular data checks to make sure the payroll system reflects the administration system and the monthly payroll will run efficiently without slowing the process.
- Efficiently communicating with pensioner scheme members and provide a high level of customer service. Updating and reviewing system letters/ members communications to ensure they are kept up to date.
- As part of a small team you work well with others and across our partner organisations, making connections and understanding the bigger picture.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office for meetings and team days, depending on your role and team requirements.
**About you**:
- You are motivated to make a positive difference for our members and want to deliver total satisfaction.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant processes within a payroll/pension environment, systems, policies and procedures will be essential, as will good knowledge of other areas of the authority relevant to the service.
- Bringing excellent ICT skills, you will have experience of standard packages, including MS Office, Excel, and may include use of bespoke databases etc.
- Due to the frequent liaison activities, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- You will need to be highly numerate and accurate with attention to detail. You must be able to prioritise and work to deadlines. Although you are working in a team you are expected to take lead in some instances.
- You take responsibility for your work and are trusted to perform your job to the best of your ability.
