**Description**

The VAT Accountant EMEA works as part of the Shared Service Centres in UK, Italy and Hungary, to deliver high quality accounting and finance specialised back-end services to certain European businesses

Job Responsibilities
- As the VAT Accountant EMEA, your main function is to assist with all VAT Compliance activities of our EMEA companies. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Assist in the migration of VAT and statistical returns into the compliance centre from local markets
- Assist with review and maintenance of indirect tax compliance process controls
- Preparation of VAT/EC Sales/Intrastat returns for multiple jurisdictions in a shared services team
- Responsible for maintaining monthly VAT balance sheet reconciliations
- Identify system process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls and drive positive change
- Assisting the EMEA VAT Compliance Manager and EMEA VAT Manager in dealing with tax queries received from various parts of the business and externally such as tax authorities

**Profile**
- Indirect Tax/ Compliance experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Someone Studying towards an Accountancy Qualification is considered but its not required
- Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team
- Team Work - Must be able to work in teams and support each other, sharing knowledge with new team members and less experienced colleagues
- Ability to plan and prioritize work
- Ability to self-organize
- Hands-on mentality
- Excellent communication across cultures and within a virtual working environment

**Job Offer**
- £42,000 - £50,000
- VAT Accountant EMEA
- Bonus Scheme of up to 5% of annual salary normally pays out at this level
