We are looking for a Manager to join our Special Investigations team in London. Our Special Investigations team focus on contentious insolvency and fraud investigations with a demonstrated history of recovering assets from both the UK and overseas.

We deal with cross-border issues, complex litigation and numerous contentious issues, as well as liquidations and high-profile bankruptcies.

You will need to be analytical minded with report writing experience as well as having strong interpersonal and management skills, to profitably manage a substantial portfolio of clients, ensuring both excellent client service and making a significant contributiontowards the overall future development and success of the team, office, and firm.

**Responsibilities**
- Plan assignments in accordance with the Firm's standard procedures and relevant statutory and extra statutory obligations, and to confirm arrangements with the client, company, or appointer, including likely costs and billing arrangements.
- Brief staff (including those based in other offices working on the assignment) on the client's business and the pre assignment instructions, to supervise and control the completion of work and to undertake 'on the job' training and appraisals where appropriate.
- Ensure that the job is completed within budget, and to discuss all materials points arising with the assignment partner and client or appointer immediately, particularly in relation to any anticipated overruns, or significant changes in likely outcome.
- Liaise with the creditors, directors and other interested parties throughout the appointment/assignment and to practise the principles of excellent client service at all times. The role will include the briefing of legal advisors and close working withthem during litigation matters.
- Ensure that appropriate liaison takes place with all other departments, and to develop a detailed knowledge of the firm's specialist services, and to undertake special work in response to client needs where appropriate.
- Perform the firm's senior staff review procedures, ensuring that all points raised are adequately and promptly actioned.
- Monitor assignments to establish and achieve the earliest and most efficient completion of the appointment.
- Closely monitor the profitability and recoverability of work in progress and to bill clients on a timely basis.
- Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses and to fulfil the Institute's CPE requirements.
- Assist in recruitment, training and marketing activities as required.
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the Head of Department.

Our new colleague will ideally be ACCA / ACA (or equivalent) or JIEB qualified or have significant experience as an insolvency specialist in an investigation role. You will also need to have:

- Previous experience operating at manager level in a similar role is required.
- Proven experience in insolvency fraud investigation cases
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating with all levels
- Proven experience in client handling and case management skills
- Previous experience in managing, developing and coaching team members
- Demonstratable experience in litigation presenting cases for Court
- The motivation to make a difference, being a trusted and respected advisor to our clients and colleagues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong commercial outlook
