**Play Worker/Early Years Apprentice**

Our client is currently looking for a Play Worker/Early Years to join their fun and expanding team

**Salary**: National Apprenticeship Wage

You will be working towards gaining your Early Years apprenticeship qualification

**Play Worker/Early Apprentice Years Duties**:

- To understand that safeguarding children is paramount in ensuring children are safe from harm.
- To become familiar with the settling's safeguarding and whistle blowing policies and procedures.
- To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others by carrying out on going risk assessments.
- To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0-11 year.
- To work as part of a team
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by room leader, deputy manager or manager.
- To develop partnerships with parents/carers increasing their involvement in their child’s learning.
- To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship.

**Play Worker/Early Years Apprentice Requirements**:

- An understanding and personal commitment to the ongoing development of Play Professors after school club
- An enhanced DBS checks
- A commitment to equal opportunities and the promotion of non-discriminatory practice in all aspects
- To promote therefore of children and young people and have a particular regard for safeguarding issues
- A respectful nurturing approach to all
- To be able to work as part of a team and take direction from senior members of staff
- The ability to support the development of children with a range of skills and needs
- The ability to observe and plan for children’s learning and development
- Being able to work as part of a team
- The ability to respond to children’s interests and support them in developing in their own ideas
- To undertake training as required
- Good skills in communicating with families, the wider community, and fellow staff members
- Good organisational and time keeping skills
- A good understanding of child well-being and the factors developing development
- Successful safeguarding training within the last two years, or be prepared to undertake training upon appointment
- To hold or undertake a 12-hour paediatric first aid qualification
