Male Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a young man with a Down Syndrome living in the Airdrie area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, shaving)
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Walking and general exercise, assisting with participation in these physical activities
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver license is essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle - mileage allowance will be paid OR as you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle.
- The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds._
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Pets in the household - you must be comfortable working with a dog in the home.
Experience is required but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**
Recruiting for 1 position.
Guaranteed permanent position of 22 hours every 4 weeks.
**Days and times**:
Set shifts at set times:
Typically - Thursday: 17:00 till 20:00 and every 2nd Saturday - 12:00 till 17:00
Holiday cover may be required which will be discussed at interview.
**Hourly rate**:
£11.00 per hour
