**Summary**:

- The National Economic Crime Centre (NECC) is a truly collaborative, multi-agency centre which has been established to deliver a step change in the UK’s response and approach to tackling economic crime.
- This is an opportunity to lead the NECC’s money laundering (ML) portfolio. This portfolio of teams drive the NECC’s strategic response to serious and organised ML, and are responsible for understanding the threat and strategic intelligence picture.**Job description**:

- As part of the NECC Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and working closely with UKFIU, this role is responsible for leading and delivering the NECC’s strategic planning in regards to the “Four P” approach (Prepare, Prevent, Pursue, Protect). The role involves working closely with operational, project and policy teams to ensure that the NECC is delivering on its strategic commitments.-
**Responsibilities**:

- The successful applicant will:
- Lead, direct and develop the multi-functional threat response teams within the NECC.
- Own the relevant Strategic Action Plan, overseeing The NCA’s progress against key deliverables.
- Develop the short, medium and long-term visions to tackle the threat of ML, orchestrating colleagues and stakeholders to fully engage with these aims.
- Influence operational response to ML threats across the 4Ps, at strategic and operational levels.
- Lead the understanding of key performance measures that drive the whole system response to degrade the threat, evaluating and interpreting performance information and our understanding of the impact of our capabilities.
- Develop strategies on behalf of The NECC. Driving and reporting on the delivery of NECC commitments within these strategies.
- Work as part of NECC SLT to help set strategic priorities for serious and organised economic crime, advising on how to report the delivery of those priorities and their impact.
- Promote the role of the NECC while establishing, developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships across the public and private sectors, ensuring these further the NECC’s strategic objectives.
- Represent the NECC at multi-agency meetings.
- Risk manage and make effective decisions to support business delivery, with the ability to evaluate and recommend actions to develop partnerships and mitigate the threat of economic crime.
- Ensure Senior Ministers, Civil Servants, law enforcement and operational partners are adequately briefed.
- Display passion and enthusiasm to protect the public and be visible and approachable to all colleagues and stakeholders.

- An excellent knowledge of relevant legislation affecting NECC activity and an appreciation of the political context of NECC work.
