Transport Planner

We have a fantastic opportunity based in our Durham office, working alongside our existing planner with responsibilities for a General Haulage fleet working throughout the UK.
**Key duties**:
- Must be efficient at planning routes and assigning work using a TMS system and a Web based tracking and driver communication system.
- Ability to work to delivery deadlines and maximising individual vehicle revenues whilst maintaining full control and compliance with all regulation requirements.
- Must be effective at communicating quickly and concisely with drivers and working with colleagues to cover all aspects of transport requirements for the business between multiple depots.
- Needs to be able to work to a flexible pattern, understand the requirement for teamwork and demonstrate a clear ability to “think outside of the box” to produce solutions for all customer requirements.
- Ability to utilise all the fleet and resources available to maximize revenue, profit and exercise cost efficiencies to deliver first class service for an extensive customer base.
**Personal attributes**:
- Must have previous experience in similar role with an ability to build multi drop loads as well as plan full load traffic.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritize workload accordingly.
- Excellent people management skills.
