**Emergency Department HCA**
The staff bank at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust (BHRUT) Hospitals, one of London’s most celebrated teaching Trusts, are seeking a committed emergency department health care assistant to work across their hospitals as a part of their busy emergency departments.
BHRUT provides outstanding healthcare for a population of more than 750,000 people across their most diverse London Boroughs and South West Essex. Its two main centers for excellence - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford - run some of London’s most in-demand emergency departments, treating 220,000 walk-in and ambulance emergencies each year.
We are looking for kind, highly motivated individuals with a passion to provide excellent patient centred care to those admitted following an emergency.

**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a health care setting in the last 12 months
- Experience of working / participating as part of a team.
- An excellent team player, and a commitment to individual professional development
- Evidence of ability to work using own initiative and under mínimal supervision
- A proactive, professional work ethic and excellent working under pressure
- A caring, empathetic approach to all patients
**Responsibilities/key duties**:
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their family, visitors, and carers.
- Understand own level of responsibility and accountability in relation to role.
- To ensure informed consent is obtained before treatment or intervention is undertaken.
- To ensure that the communication of information between self, the patient and colleagues is handled sensitively, clearly, pro-actively and in a manner mindful of patient confidentiality.
- To ensure that a clear handover report is provided when the patient is handed into the care of another health professional. This should record all pertinent patient information, in accordance with Trust procedure and that the transfer of patients into the care of others is conducted according to procedure
