**About us**

THE ROYAL HARBOUR ACADEMY is a secondary school of more than 900 students in Ramgate. The school is arranged over the split site with Years 7 and 8 on our Newlands Lane premises and Year 9 along with Key Stages 4 and 5 at our Marlowe Way premises.

**Position: Cleaner**

**Overview**:
The Cleaner is responsible for the cleaning of all areas of the facility.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Clean and maintain the classrooms, corridors, toilets, and other areas of the school to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Dust, mop, sweep, and vacuum floors, walls, and ceilings as required.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and other washroom facilities.
- Refill soap dispensers, toilet rolls, and paper towels as required.
- Report any cleaning supply needs to your line manager.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures as set by the school.
- Maintain good communication with your Line Manager and your team.
- Ensure that all areas are clean and in order.
- Participate in training as assigned.
- Work independently as needed and as a team member when performing tasks with other employees.
- Employees have a duty to take care of their own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work. Workers must co-operate with employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
- All staff are responsible for the safeguarding of children in line with the school’s Safeguarding (Child Protection) Policy. All new staff will be provided with training to enable them to do so.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work independently and be an excellent team player.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.

This is a part time, term time plus 3 weeks, permanent role, 42 working weeks per year. (3 weeks holiday cleaning in addition to the normal school term) The hours of work are 3.30 - 7.30pm Monday to Friday.

Part-time hours: 20 per week

15:30 to 19:30pm

**Salary**: The full time equivalent is £24,499 which equates to £12,374 actual annual salary, calculated on a pro rata basis.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.69 per hour
