Aat Apprenticeship Opportunity
**In a nutshell**:
You'll be stepping into a trainee accountant role with PKF Francis Clark where, over the next three years, you’ll be supported to study for and achieve the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) professional qualification via an apprenticeship. You will build your career within a collaborative culture where you feel you belong and can be yourself.
**The team and what you'll be doing**:
It’s likely you’ll join us in one of our Business Services teams, but you could join in Audit.
You’ll learn the fundamentals of bookkeeping and accounting, get into the more advanced areas of managing budgets and evaluating financial performance, as well as personal and corporate tax.
The breadth of the work that our business services team carries out dovetails with a range of clients - sole traders, family-owned businesses, partnerships, LLPs, private individuals - across all sectors.
You’ll also be part of our trainee rotation programme which will provide you with a well-rounded training experience whilst undertaking your AAT qualification with us.
PKF Francis Clark supports hybrid working, so you will split your time between working in the office, studying for your professional exams and working from home.
Each year that you are with us, you will build upon the knowledge and experiences that you have gained and be given more responsibility as you grow and develop.
Entering the work environment can be daunting. But the support network here at PKF Francis Clark is endless. Everyone from you, your Manager to the Partners is treated respectfully and is made to feel valued. And you’ll be joining with lots of other trainees just like you.
**Learning and development**:
All of our trainee opportunities follow apprenticeship standards, which we fully fund so in addition to learning on the job with support from experienced colleagues, you’ll spend time studying via a leading professional training provider, through a mix of online and classroom-based learning.
We recognise that personal development training is essential in helping you to become a trusted business adviser, so you will receive support and learning not only for your professional qualification but also towards the skills and behaviours that are required to be a successful accountant. You will be allocated a buddy straight away and when you join us and a line manager to ensure that you are on track with both your professional qualification and career aspirations.
If you want to continue to develop once you’ve achieved your AAT qualification, we can support you with further professional training. You can move on to the ACA qualification to become a Chartered Accountant or the CTA route to become a Chartered Tax Advisor. Both are level 7 qualifications, equivalent to a Master’s degree at university. Again, with these routes you earn while you learn and we fund your studies.
**About you**:
AAT apprenticeships are perfect if you are finishing your A Levels, or for career changers who left education post A Level and want to switch and start a new career in accountancy. Our trainees are an integral part of our strategy and the growth of the firm.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Team player with a commitment to the profession
- Able to demonstrate initiative in delivering an excellent service to clients and each other
- Analytical and methodical in approach to work
- A sense of fun and desire to succeed and reach your full potential.
**Academic requirement**:
- 112 UCAS points excluding general studies. This is based on the 2017 UCAS Tariff. You can calculate your UCAS points here
- GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English, Grade C or above or 9-4
If we’re not currently advertising an opportunity in your preferred office location, we would encourage you to sign up to job alerts to find out about new openings as soon as they become available.
