**The Opportunity**

We are currently looking for a casual Funeral Service Operative for Hull and surrounding areas.

Our Funeral Operatives are often the first members of the team to meet our families and are ambassadors for the Company. You would be part of a team providing reassurance that we will look after the family’s loved one as we bring them into our care.

You will be required to act as a pall bearer and occasionally chauffeur the limousines and hearses. A full driving licence is required. Our pall bearer team heights range from 5'10 to 6'00. We would require someone of a similar height for balance and health and safety reasons.

You will be on call for 7 nights injcluding all day over the weekend for 1 week in 4.

**Hours**

This is a casual role, so the hours are as and when required during the day. Monday to Friday.

There will be many oppertunites to work full days as an operative holiday/sickness cover. This work will incude vehicle cleanig and assisting other operatives with their duties, as well as driving/bearing on a funeral. We operate a small pool of casual operatives, so if you have other commitments occasionally, then there is no problem, but you would be given the first refusal of this work in the hope you are available more often than not.

The fixed part of the role is on an ‘on call’ rota basis one 7 day week in every four weeks. It is essential that you are able to commit to being able to respond to a phone call to meet a colleague at any hour of the night/early morning, as well as during day time hours of your on call weekend. If you are not sure if you can commit then please do not apply. You would be involved in helping to move the deceased from the place they had died to our private ambulance, so some lifting work will be involved.

Smart appearance is essential. Clothing provided. Training will be given.

You will need your own transport to get to our branches or meet where the service is held.

Mileage will be paid.

The role will be most suited to people living in good reach of HU4.

**Pay**

a). _Pall Bearer/Driver_

Minimum of £19.50 per funeral, up to £30.00 depending on distance and service. (Guarantee of no less than £12.00--per hour).

£5.00 bonus per funeral if you drive a hearse or a limousine.

b). _On call_

£83.00 for the on call week. 1 week in 4. Friday to Thursday. This includes Saturday and Sunday.

Brining deceased into our care at any hour £42.00
- c). Appointments_

From £14.50 to £18.00 depending on location of venue.
- d). General_

£12.00 per hour for other general duties or time outside the above.

Pay: £12.00-£19.50 per hour
