What you will be doing- As a dedicated benchmarks supervisor, you will contribute to the development and implementation of an effective supervisory strategy to address key risks of harm- Work with the supervision team to change firms’ conduct and learn to use influence, persuasion and the FCA’s formal powers- You will assist with the analysis of information and data to make effective supervisory judgements- You will be responsible for supporting the team in logging supervisory cases and helping to manage workflow to support delivery of supervisory priorities- The role involves developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders both internal and external

Joining the Benchmark Supervision team, you will have the opportunity to implement and influence the FCA’s supervision strategy for Benchmark Administrators. This role provides exposure to both a breadth and a depth of issues, including with senior management at benchmark administrators.

You will also have the opportunity to work with and learn from FCA colleagues covering wide ranging issues including technology and resilience, competition, benchmarks policy, authorisations and enforcement. You will have the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including other regulatory authorities. You will enjoy a unique perspective on the financial services industry, with the opportunity to do meaningful work that makes a real difference.

The skills and experience you’ll have

Minimum- Experience working in either a financial service environment such as firms, legal and consultancy or other regulatory and governmental organisations- Experience working in an analytical role- Strong written communication skills

Essential- An understanding of the FCA’s role and objectives- Strong organisation and self-management skills to meet commitments and deliver within agreed timeframes.- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to distil complex issues into succinct messages.- A collaborative approach and ability to think creatively about new and emerging supervisory issues- Ability to operate with confidence in an environment of uncertainty, complexity and rapid change- An analytical mind-set and a risk-based approach to decision making and judgements.- Ability to develop technical knowledge to provide support across relevant workstreams- Ability to escalate issues appropriately- Ability to adopt a flexible and pragmatic approach to your work- Ability to work at pace and prioritise competing objectives
