Playing akey role in maintaining and improving the quality of policing services is technology. Information and communication systems are deployed and in use across the Force to help ensure that accurate and reliable information is made available to those who need it,when they need it and where they need it.

**What do I need?**
- Experience of defining, leading and implementing Enterprise infrastructure, networks and end user devices
- Operational experience of Disaster Recovery, Data Centres, WAN and LAN Networks, Telecommunications, Physical and Virtual servers, Storage and End User Computing
- Knowledge of EA Methodologies e.g. TOGAF, Spowart, Zachman or equivalent
- Working experience of Cloud strategies and enterprise cloud computing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of managing and leading technology teams
- Experience of optimising the performance of large IT suppliers
- Evidence of strategic awareness, creativity and innovation
- Experience of undertaking technical leadership for a team of senior technical roles, providing direction and influence to ensure completion of activities
- Experience of defining and embedding architectural governance in a digital landscape
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A degree, HND or equivalent qualification, and/or have significant relevant experience

**The Role**:
This is an exciting time for the Digital Policing Team at Northumbria Police and we are looking for talented architects to join us during this critical period of change.

Working alongside a team of Architects and reporting to the Enterprise Architect. The Technology Architect will define, justify and maintain the technology blueprint. They will inform, adopt and embed standards, principles and governance within technologyarchitectures that will be used to support and deliver the Policing capabilities and future ways of working outlined in the Force Operating Model and strategy.

**This will include**:

- Establishing a baseline against the technology landscape through discovery and modelling
- Designing and fulfilling assessments against the technology landscape to identify risks and opportunities
- Influencing, adopting and embedding technology principles and standards through design and implementation
- Embedding technology and architecture governance across the Force in collaboration with other domain architects and key stakeholders
- Aligning the appropriate Technology Strategies with the Force Strategy and Force Operating Model
- Assessing industry technology strategies and identifying the implications which they may have on the Force
- Providing technical consultancy and mentoring to the Force and Digital Policing Colleagues
- Being driven to gain greater value and exploit the technology assets utilised

They will lead the design and delivery of the required infrastructure, network and technology capabilities working across Digital Policing and with internal stakeholders.

**What will I be doing?**

You will be accountable for the development of the integrated long-term Technology Blueprint Plan and Enterprise Technology Roadmap developed to underpin the force strategic priorities.

You will also be accountable for the development and implementation of the overarching Enterprise Technology standards, patterns and reference architectures.

You will make decisions independently and influence the strategic technology decisions through feedback and collaborative working with all relevant stakeholders both internal and external to the Force.

You will lead and influence the exploitation of Technology with partner organisations to explore opportunities for collaboration, and the provision of efficient and effective ICT Services. Use their knowledge and experience to provide internal consultancyon the risks and opportunities of how technology will be used and its implication on people, processes.
