Warehouse Operative/forklift Driver

**Your role**

To be successful in this role you will be a confident, personable and enthusiastic individual who is at ease both dealing with a busy work schedule and liaising between departments within the company.

Your role involves operating a Flexi-forklift truck to unload and load vehicles, ensuring goods are received, handled and stored in line with company quality standards and customer satisfaction. You will respect lean principles of continuous improvement and be familiar with business processes (sales and purchase orders/invoices) and have a good understanding of international trade and customs requirements (commercial invoices, customer clearances etc.)

**Your role will include**
- Receive in customer returns and purchase orders
- Administrate all paperwork and delivery notes
- Maintain effective stock control ensuring warehouse space is used efficiently and provide solutions to improve workflow
- Operate stock movement on the company’s ERP system
- Work closely with purchasing and sales team so you can plan volumes for both short terms and future orders
- Manage delivery vehicles and communicate effectively with drivers
- Carry out daily inspections of the forklift truck
- Undertake regular racking inspections and stock checks
- Ensure the yard is always kept tidy
- Ensure waste and scrap are disposed of in line with company standards
- Implement best practice logistics and warehousing principles, policies and processes to improve operational performance
- Enforcing company rules, security procedures, health and safety standards and regulations
- Book in visitors and contractors ensuring they are familiar with site practices
- Drive the Flexi truck as required

**Essential skills and experience**
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a warehouse operation. Ideally dealing in IT goods
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems
- A good understanding and champion of health and safety and environmental practices

**Desirable skills and experience**
- Flexi/Bendi forklift licence
- Team leader/supervisory experience
- Interested and keen on tech
- Good understanding of lean methodologies (5S, Six Sigma etc.)
- Knowledge of regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations

Schedule:
