Practice Plus Group are pleased to announce that they will be taking over the healthcare contract at HMP Wymott, a Category C prison in Lancashire from 1st April 2025.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team there from April. The prison houses around 1100 men with a variety of health needs and within this role, you’ll play an integral part in providing exceptional care for our patients.

**Salary**

This position is full time night post working 37.5 hours per week but we do have flexibility in the hours we can offer you. If you would like to work fewer hours per week we can consider this. You will receive an annual salary of between £24,669 and £28,690 FTE per annum depending on experience.

**What you'll be doing**:
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care

**Qualifications required**
- NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
