This is an excellent opportunity to take over the leadership of a traditional privately owned manufacturing company with a niche product range and a loyal customer base. The business has a sales turnover of circa £5m, has an established workforce of 30 andis in a strong position financially.
The new Managing Director will be tasked with growing the company’s sales revenue and profitability in a controlled and sustainable manner. In the short term there will be a need to ensure successful transfer of knowledge and skills from exiting membersof the current senior team.
Change management and modernisation is required, but with a pragmatic and sensitive style, taking the workforce on the journey with you.
You will have a proven track record of overall company management or of leading a division in a larger organisation. A good general knowledge of engineering and production processes is required, as is strong commercial acumen, particularly around purchasing,product costing and pricing.
Your leadership, communication and influencing skills must be impressive, with experience in using these in developing effective management teams and in creating and maintaining good relationships with key customers and suppliers.
Strong personal IT skills are essential, with a good understanding of using IT systems in a manufacturing business.
