**Job Summary**
Dance&Arts LTD is seeking a dynamic and experienced Arts & Crafts Instructor to lead our afterschool club for **11 Tuesday sessions** in a primary school in the Kensal Rise area (NW10). This role is ideal for an individual passionate about visual arts and creativity who can deliver exciting and age-appropriate projects for our youngest students.
You will deliver engaging sessions focused on basic arts and crafts techniques, including drawing, painting, collage, and model making. The primary goal is to provide a fun, creative, and non-judgmental environment where Reception to Year 2 students can explore various materials, develop fine motor skills, and express their imagination. This is a paid position requiring reliability and strong classroom management skills for young children.
**Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate Arts & Crafts sessions for pupils aged 4-7.
- Lead hands-on projects, ensuring materials are set up, managed safely, and cleared away efficiently.
- Ensure sessions are inclusive and adaptable to different ability levels.
- Inspire students to participate fully, follow instructions, and enjoy the creative process.
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and structured classroom atmosphere suitable for young children.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and the Dance&Arts coordination team regarding the sessions.
- Follow all safeguarding and health & safety standards, particularly concerning materials and tools.
**Experience and Skills**
- **Essential Experience**: Proven experience teaching or leading arts and crafts activities with young children (ages 4-7).
- **Strong Knowledge**: Proficiency in fundamental art techniques suitable for KS1/Early Years, including managing different mediums (e.g., paint, glue, clay).
- **Key Skills**: Excellent communication, high energy, and effective classroom management skills, particularly for this age group.
- **Personal Qualities**: Reliable, enthusiastic, patient, and passionate about inspiring creativity in young children.
- **Vetting**: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- **Qualifications**: A background or qualification in Art, Early Years Education, or a related creative field is desirable but not strictly required.
