**Catering Assistant - 52 Weeks (Permanent)**

40 hours per week - £13.50 per hour.

Monday to Friday, 07:00hrs - 15:00hrs

The University of Oxford’s Chemistry Department located on Mansfield Road, OX1 3TA, in the centre of Oxford is looking for a Catering Assistant. This role is part of the onsite catering team. A Monday - Friday, 5 days a week role with work hours 7am / 8am through to 3pm / 4pm.

The front-facing position will assist with the preparation of our fresh food offer, and with serving customers, Hospitality Catering Delivery, as well as with washing up and cleaning.

**Main Duties include**:

- Provide welcoming and high-quality hospitality and customer service at all times.
- Assist the Catering Manager in all areas of the catering operation (serving a wide range of internal and external events and meeting dietary requirements), including preparing hospitality catering
- General cleaning of the kitchen, and dining area.
- Making lunchtime sales via the till payment machine
- Preparing Hospitality Catering set ups across campus
- To serve food in a hygienic way and to know about the food you are serving and the ingredients for guests with allergies.
- Make sure all cleaning products are available where they are needed.
- To ensure that you are correctly dressed and adhere to high personal hygiene standards.
- Act within Health and Safety Policy and procedures to ensure safe working environment for all.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with the food service team, including the Department’s conferencing and facilities team.
- Conduct manual domestic duties, including manual handling and carrying.
