Shropshire Community Health Trust‘s Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team provides community-based services for children in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin, aged 0 -18.
We are looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team for the next year to support a project funded by the Change Programme for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Shropshire Primary school hubs for children with additional needs. There will also be an opportunity to join one of the other clinical specialist SLT teams.

We offer good training opportunities with a strong emphasis on continuing professional development through appraisal and supervision. The successful applicant will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team of children’s therapists and assistants. The team is highly supportive with a commitment to improving to quality and productivity and there are ongoing opportunities to contribute to service development.
To provide, as an autonomous practitioner, assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment for service users within a specialist area and to liaise with and refer on to other health, education and social care providers as appropriate.
To work as a member of the community service within early years and/or specialist education settings, including, contributing to their development.
To provide multidisciplinary functions within the post holders sphere of competence to service users across these and mainstream education settings.
To develop the post holders' own professional practice by keeping up to date with clinical developments and responding to available evidence.
To provide specialist advice, education and training in the specialist area.
