Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Applications are welcome from individuals who do not have the MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) but are committed to undertaking this programme. This would be offered as a training position at a band 7 while completely the MSc programme.
The Advanced Practitioner role is predominantly ward based, with clinical responsibilities driven by the medical management of the patients within the service. Alongside ward duties, Advanced Practitioner clinics and continued service development with also be an integral part of the role.

We provide specialist services in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, respiratory medicine both in the hospital and out in the community.
We serve a catchment area of 2.8 million people, spanning Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man, and increasingly we receive referrals from outside these areas for highly specialised services such as aortics.

The Advanced Practitioner will work as an integral part of the medical workforce, whose daily workload is driven by the medical management of the patients within the service. This will be predominately ward based, working as part of the medical team and the wider multidisciplinary team. Support will be provided directly via the SpR and the consultant to which you are aligned to. The Advanced Practitioner will be included in the junior medical rota alongside a pool of other Advanced Practitioners and Junior Doctors collectively providing 24 hour cover for the acute service.
