The Institute of Our Lady of Mercy strives to be of service to the poor, sick and disadvantaged. We do this through a variety of ministries including education, nursing, providing women’s outreach services, chaplaincies and providing high quality care homes for the elderly. The Mercy Care Centre provides residential care for older people and for people living with dementia in a purpose-built facility, alongside a development of 18 apartments providing “extra care housing.” Rated as ‘good’ in all areas at our last CQC inspection.

The team at Mercy Care Centre is special and we’re looking for new people to join us; you get a real sense of this happy environment when you walk through the door. We are looking for a caring and kind Care Assistant to join our varied and unique setting. You will deliver person centered care in the Home and ensure that a compassionate and quality service is provided to our residents. You will enable them to be as independent as possible, ensuring their dignity is respected and assist them in being an active part of the community.

**Night Care Assistant (36hours) £11.18 - £11.35 (weekday)**

**Covering a 24/7 rota £14.91 - £15.13 p/h (weekend)**

**You will have**:

- Minimum NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care or be prepared to work towards it
- Experience of delivering person centred care for older people including people living with dementia
- Willingness to work above and beyond to maintain our high standards

We aim for all staff employed in our Care Homes to be required to have undertaken an Enhanced DBS check (together with an Adult Barred list check where applicable) as they may be called on to undertake regulated activity as part of a ‘whole home’ approach to providing high quality responsive care in accordance with CQC requirements and Government legislation.
