We are recruiting into a full time Children's Well-Being Practitioners (CWP) to join the Oxfordshire CAMHS North Getting Help Team.
A children’s wellbeing practitioner (CWP) is a highly specialist role in a CAMHS team. The role is pivotal to enhancing accessibility to CAMHS by delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for mild to moderate low mood and anxiety disorders. The national Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) programme was developed following recommendations made in ‘Implementing the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health' plan, to provide evidence based interventions for children and young people.
The role is pivotal to enhancing accessibility to CAMHS by delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for mild to moderate low mood and anxiety disorders.
You will be expected to deliver assessments of children mental health including family and carers where required. You will be expected to complete mental health assessments, risk assessments, care plans, GP letters, and liaison with other agencies such as social care and schools. You will offer 1 to 1 CBT-informed evidence-based intervention to children and their families, both remotely and face to face in a range of bases in the community. There is also the chance to deliver CBT and DBT-informed groups.
We provide supportive range of supervision; peer/group, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Case Management and Clinical Supervision to think about complex cases, staff well-being and professional development. You will also get the chance to go on CBT and DBT training delivered by qualified clinicians within the NHS. Team Managers are happy to design unique job planning to everyone and their needs within the team. The team attempts to share positive feedback within every meeting to share success and achievement within the team. We are aware that working within the CAMHS service there we attempt to look after staff wellbeing with social events. We also deliver away days, this is a break from your routine day to day clinical work and gives the team a chance to team build, reflect on practice and how they are looking after themselves. We are a holistic multiply disciplinary team (Social worker, nurses, CWPs,etc), and we all learn from each other’s background, professions, and experience.
