Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- EIA Coordination: Assist in managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), including research, data collection, engaging with expert sub-consultants, and drafting EIA chapters.
- Client Engagement: Directly communicate with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the project design and planning process.
- Report Preparation: Prepare planning support documents, planning appealsm planning statements, and contribute to environmental reports, ensuring high-quality and compliance with regulations.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Liaise with statutory consultees, planning departments, and community stakeholders to gather input and ensure project alignment with planning policies.
- Research and Policy Review: Review key planning policy documents, planning portals, and environmental reports; provide feedback and analysis to inform project decisions.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Conduct site visits in accordance with health and safety guidelines, including conducting risk assessments where necessary.
- Project Management Support: Assist in the management of project timelines, resources, and coordination between multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and ecologists.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain project files, prepare agendas, take meeting minutes, and assist with general office tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field.
- Experience in environmental planning work is preferred. This may include past work related to the preparation of EIAs, or environmental consultancy.
- Knowledge of UK and Irish planning systems and environmental legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, planning portals, online forms, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software is an advantage.
- Membership or working towards membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional body.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, team members, stakeholders and others.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
