**The Role**:
As a Lecturer in English, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and innovative lessons that enhance the literacy skills of our students aged 16-18 and adult learners. In addition, you will be at the forefront of providing high-quality instruction to students resitting their English exams due to government requirements. **Salary Scale**: £26,248- £42,059 FTE per annum

Part time salary based on prorata basis of the FTE salary

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Lecturer in English**

(Permanent Fulltime, Part time or Term Time Only)

**Job location: Stanmore College, Stanmore Campus**

**Faculty**: English, Maths or ESOL

**Reporting to**: Curriculum Manager - English

**Purpose of the role**: To provide high quality teaching and access to learning. It is expected that the postholder will contribute to course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally. To teach GCSE English, functional skills, steppingstones and other level 2 and level 1 English programmes.

**Duties**

1. To deliver high quality teaching and learning.

2. To deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes.

3. To provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding bodies and requirements.

4. To prepare and adapt teaching materials including assignments, book lists, assessment papers and handbooks to enable all learners to progress.

5. To prepare schemes of work and schemes of assessment.

6. To undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of the programmes in this area to carry out moderation, assessment and verification.

7. To contribute to the college’s quality cycle.

8. To work with colleagues to integrate functional skills and English into the vocational curriculum.
