Materials Controller

The Materials Controller is responsible for inventory control, coordinating of all materials, job packs /kits & completed production orders to support production and delivery requirements for customer orders. They take a lead role in utilizing our ERP system to fullest extent to support production planning, procurement & shipping activities.

**Role Purpose / Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
ERP System Tasks
- Processing material usage
- Conducting daily cycle counts and recording
- Clearing negative stock levels for cycle counting
- Book in all material and hardware deliveries
- Update Country of Origin for all components
- Allocate & kit specialized material deliveries / hardware
- Run Material shortage reports
- Completed orders job closure.

Production Support Tasks
- Print hard copy job packs, physical delivery of material to production cell and recording of material issued
- Physical return of material to the cell storage cages verification of material usage
- Physical daily / monthly cycle counting of inventory
- Control hard copy paperwork and scheduling 3rd party archiving
- Liaise with sub-contractors to arrange outsourced operations such as grinding, plating & hardening
- Arranging weekly scrap material uplifts with 3rd party
- Complete spare part stock orders for customers
- Physical delivery of completed jobs from the production cell to dispatch & short by customer order
- Cover production planning duties during holiday periods by scheduling the production cell daily workload using planning tools, liaising with internal sales and the engineering team

Site Wide Tasks
- Work cross functionally with staff of all levels to ensure optimum production efficiency and effectiveness is achieved and resolve issues relating to the scheduling of customer orders
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to statutory and Company Health and Safety Regulations
- Supports continuous improvement activities by identifying, developing and assisting with implementation of improvement actions to improve planning processes
- Daily 5s housekeeping of the working area

Skills and Experience:

- Requires a good understanding of manufacturing / production flow in a fast-moving environment
- Requires 2 years minimum experience of working in a production / manufacturing environment
- Safe lifting and manual handling training
- Self-Driven: Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
- Computer literate: with a knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Focused: Must have strong attention to detail with proven capabilities in handling multiple priorities
- Team Player: Flexible approach in order to support fast paced and changing working environment
- Customer focused
- Organised and methodical
