**Management Accountant, Gateshead**
Our client has a very long and truly outstanding history of importing, merchanting, processing and distributing key materials to a wide variety of industries including builders merchants, house builders and DIY outlets, manufacturers, local authorities, transport,shipbuilding and heavy industries. It has grown robustly to operate nationally, locally and, sometimes, internationally, now turning over approaching £20m. Having enjoyed a particularly strong track record of growth in recent years, organic and through acquisition,the company is now looking to further strengthen its Finance function by appointing a Management Accountant to this newly created role.
Reporting to the company’s FD you will be responsible for the provision and improvement of key financial information used to support decision making to enable further and more profitable growth.
**_Your key responsibilities as Management Accountant will include:_**
- Preparation of regular, timely and accurate Management Accounts for the business, including associates analyses and reconciliations
- Supporting the FD, MD and senior management team, providing commercial input in areas such as cost control, investment appraisal, pricing/margins
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Overseeing credit control, factoring, payroll and finance function administration, supporting and mentoring more junior and non-finance staff
- Assisting with reporting and filing - statutory and to key stakeholders
- Improving systems and processes

**_As Management Accountant you will need:_**
- Strong recent experience gained in a similar role such as Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Assistant Management Accountant, Accountant or Assistant Accountant, ideally with a demonstrable track record of achievement in a fast-moving, dynamic environmentsuch as manufacturing or merchanting. Experience in a Senior or Lead role beneficial.
- A good balance of commercial acumen and technical skills with a progressive, positive, personable, hands-on approach
- CIMA qualification or equivalent
- Excellent IT skills, fully computer literate - comfortable with Office and specialist industry and accounting software
- Proactive with an inquisitive, innovative, self-motivated, independent and focussed approach
- An open minded and flexible attitude - comfortable with diversity and communicating at all levels
- Cooperative and with the courage to question, voice opinion and play an effective team role
- The potential to develop, enhance and improve yourself, the role and business
