Head Housekeeper

**HEAD HOUSEKEEPER**

(The Gailes Hotel & Spa)

We have a unique opportunity for a Head Housekeeper to join our team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to head our Housekeeping Team within SimpsInns. This is a challenging role with hard work and attention to detail being high on the list of requirements.

The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing a team of 15 and will be accountable for ensuring that our penthouse, hotel bedrooms and public areas are cleaned and presented to the highest standards, exceeding our guests’ expectations.

The Gailes Hotel & Spa near Irvine is a luxury hotel in Ayrshire that has a great home from home feel which is complimented by its welcoming staff. This four star family owned hotel offers 40 luxury bedrooms and a magical penthouse, is home to Coast Restaurant & Bar, GG’s Coffee Shop & Sports Lounge, a large banqueting suite as well as the stunning new Si Spa and leisure club.

**Responsibilities**:

- Opening checklists
- Daily briefing and task allocation
- Daily audits of all operational standard
- Organising Penthouse and guest requests
- Orders of linen, cleaning materials and guest supplies
- Be hands on operational support where necessary (cleaning rooms, stocking trolleys, room checks)
- Cleaning guest rooms to high standards
- Reporting any maintenance requirements in rooms and throughout the Hotel
- Handling guest feedback
- Managing lost property
- Auditing of H&S Standards
- Recruiting, inducting, training and developing your team, 1:1s and appraisals
- Creating weekly rotas, managing holidays and other leave
- Stocktakes, budgets and control of wages
- Analysing performance
- Public Areas cleaning is carried out to excellent high standards with as little disturbance to guests as possible
- To ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to
**Skills and Qualifications**:

- You should ideally have recent experience in Housekeeping Management within a four-star venue
- Passion for what you do
- Key eye for detail essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

**Job Type**:Full-time, Permanent (5 days over 7 - 35-39 hours)
