Location: Wartsila Guidance Marine Leicester - ANCS (Automation Navigation Communication and Smart Sensors)

This requirement is necessary to meet increasing production demand and ensure the operations team can maintain a flexible and agile approach to delivering. Consideration of year-on-year increased sensor sales, broadening of Smart Sensor product portfolio, additional repairs demand, and the profile of the operations team are all significant factors in the need.

The Production Planner manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. You will liaise with suppliers to plan the throughput of raw materials through the plant using the MRP system. You will execute daily production schedules to meet customer demand. You will also monitor stock to ensure the build plan can be fulfilled. You will be fully conversant with MRP Systems (SAP and preferably Epicor) and Microsoft Office.

**What will the successful applicant be doing?**

As a Production Planner, your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Coordinate with sales, manufacturing and other departments to plan and monitor the movement of products through the production cycle.
- Coordinate with manufacturing to develop schedule for manpower and monitors completion of products.
- Tracks and trace inventory of materials in process and finished products
- Work with relevant departments to expedite delays when appropriate
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure on time delivery of material
- Observe production products progress and revise planning when necessary due to manpower shortages, delayed receipt of material, customer changes
- Attend production meetings and communicate planning and production changes to contracts, engineering, materials and other affected departments
- Identify and analyse problem areas of shortages, delays and recommends solutions to resolve
- Produce reports based on findings and performance of production
- Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Any other related duties assigned to them by their line manager
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft office is essential.
- Knowledge of German is a plus.
