**Role**: Mechanical Fitter (must have basic welding experience)
**Hours**: 4 on 4 off, 6am till 6pm
**Salary**: £33,000 to £37,000 per annum
**Location**: Commutable from Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Billingshurst, Dorking, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead and surrounding areas

We are actively in search of a reliable and enthusiastic Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Technician who is interested in a varied and physical role where you will get your hands dirty, covering a variety of steel and frame work, including repairs, strippingand re-building, welding and fabrication work.
**Responsibilities**
This is varied role, and an important role within the factory, supporting production. Your role is to ensure quality standards are being maintained and equipment is running correctly for production. You will be assisting with mechanical and repair work, documentingwork completed and some involvement in stores too. The role is physical, in an environment where you can expect to get your hands dirty.
- Completing set-ups, basic mechanical repairs, planned maintenance and lubrication activities.
- Equipment strip-down and rebuilding (following drawings).
- Welding and fabrication work in respect of repairing the steelwork and main frame
- Record materials used & maintain stock records of materials.
- Conduct running repairs to fleet equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
- Fully comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Assisting with maintenance tasks e.g. refractory replacement, wheel greasing.
- Be actively involved in improving site safety.

**Requirements**:

- Mechanical experience, ideally in a workshop or industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Welding / fabrication experience.
- Must be physically fit and active.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Worked in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Good computer literacy and numeracy skills
- Self-discipline and multi-tasking, the ability to self-manage and adjust to changing business needs
- Driving licence and own transport.
- Not put off by repetitive tasks and getting your hands dirty
