SEND-Personal Care Position
Location - Warrington, UK
The Education Network is working with one of it’s longstanding SEND Schools to appoint a personal care attendant to work with a variety of students across all age ranges in the school (reception-KS4). You will be involved with the day to day needs of studentsduring physiotherapy sessions, occupational therapy sessions, and also be available to meet their intimate care needs. Training will be provided in particular aspects of the role, and you will be part of a supportive team working across the whole school. Whilstwe do have an ongoing campaign to recruit experienced Tas for this school, this is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to make a transition from a role in care-work, a nursery position, or even a nursing/medical background. The role will commence assoon as a suitable person is identified, and could potentially lead into a long term/permanent post-dependent on positive relationship building with students, staff, etc.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within a fantastic school specialising in educating students with Complex Learning Needs. The school has consistently been rated as ‘Excellent’ in the last 3 OfSted inspections. The school caters for studentsfrom EYFS up to A-Level (having a shared VI Form facility on site).
Ideally you will have experience of, and enjoy working with those who have complex SEND learning requirements-gained either in a similar school environment, in a care position, a medical facility, or as a parent/guardian/carer. Having additional, relevant qualifications/experience-suchas a recent Team-Teach Certificate would again be advantageous, but not essential.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within a very pro-active school, with strong community links, an excellent reputation, and an ethos to encourage students to enjoy their learning environment. The school is easily accessible by public transport(bus/train), should you not have access to your own vehicle.
- Have previous experience of working in a similar environment, or with those with similar needs
- A willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities
- Be keen to learn and develop professionally
- Be able to work on their own initiative, as well as collaboratively
- Be pro-active team members, committed to the care needs of all students
In return, whilst working for The Education Network you will have access to:
- A designated Consultant, providing support throughout your assignment
- Ongoing, free CPD via a nationally recognised education training provider:
To express interest, please submit a CV via the link below, and if suitably qualified our consultant will contact you to further discuss these roles. If you wish to specifically discuss whether your experience is suitable for these types of position, pleasecall Eileen Norris on
