_Mersen Holytown have a fantastic opportunity for experienced packing operatives to join our busy packing area._

**Role Details**: As Packing Operative you will prepare manufactured goods for shipping. This includes inspecting items to ensure that they are not damaged or out of specification visually or dimensionally in any way. All items will be packaged according to specifications and in compliance with Aviation Security criteria.

**_Key Responsibilities _**
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all in the area at all times and highlight and safety concerns immediately.
- Inspect all orders prior to packing as per agreed inspection plan.
- Ensure all material awaiting packing is blown down prior to packing.
- Weigh any CVI material to ensure it has met the target weight before processing further.
- Pack all orders as per packing plan and ensure all material is well supported and protected to avoid damage.
- Follow packing schedule to ensure OTD targets within departmental control are met. Complete all associated internal and external paperwork are completed and are submitted in a timely manner.Participate in all area improvement initiatives to ensure the development in process efficiency.
**Person Specification**:

- Good literacy and numeracy ability.
- Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate at all levels
- Mass volume, highly automated manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing techniques (5S)
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise in ever changing circumstances.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

**Salary**: From £9.81 per hour
